3. Hit the Water on Lake Michigan

Milwaukee sits right on Lake Michigan, and getting out on the water is one of the best things you can do with your buddies here. For a Lake Michigan cruise, hop aboard Milwaukee Boat Line and take in the skyline from one of their double‑deck tour boats. For a sailing adventure, book with Sea Dog Sailing, one of Milwaukee’s most trusted captains for small‑group trips. Or, rent kayaks from Milwaukee Kayak Company for an active way to enjoy the lake up close.

Milwaukee’s winter waves even draw surfers. Yes, real surfing happens here, especially in the colder months when the wind is strongest. Wanna give it a go? Rent boards or sign up for surf lessons with High 5 Surf.

4. Play a Round on Milwaukee’s Golf Courses

The arena is loud, the fans are loyal, and seeing Giannis in person is worth every penny. When baseball season is in swing, grab a seat at American Family Field and watch the Milwaukee Brewers. Even with a reservation, you’ll be sent to the bar first for a cocktail and a look at the menu. Order a Milwaukee Old Fashioned Sweet; trust me. When you’re ready, your server will prep your table and bring out a classic steakhouse salad. Everything here is made from scratch, and the steaks are Wisconsin‑bred and wet‑aged for 30 days.

For traditional Milwaukee fare, stop into the Wisconsin Cheese Mart for all things cheese. If you’re craving something heartier, The Vanguard is the spot for scratch‑made sausages and cocktails on draft. If you want to go full Milwaukee, swing by Usinger’s Famous Sausage on Old World Third Street, where they’ve been cranking out brats and sausages for more than a century and still serve some of the best manly meats in town.
